The load tensioner ensures that the preload force is transmitted to the lashing chain in a controlled manner. When tensioning a heavy load, a load tensioner is essential. The Grade 100 load tensioner with a diameter of 8 mm is mainly used in combination with a Grade 100 tensioning chain. There are different grades of steel from which lifting chains can be made, including Grade 80, Grade 100 and Grade 120. These are the tear resistance grades of steel for use in lifting chains, steel cables and other similar structures. The higher the grade, the higher the tear resistance of the material. Grade 100 steel is even tougher than grade 80 steel and is specifically designed for the most demanding applications. For example, it is suitable for lifting heavy and dangerous loads in the offshore industry and has a higher breaking strength. However, it is slightly less corrosion resistant than grade 80 steel.
